Customer –
I’ve been chasing a misfire code on my Jeep XJ 4.0L for a month and this is what finally solved it. Turns out the aftermarket crank position sensor that was in there was inaccurate enough that it was making the computer think there was a misfire.Turns out genuine OEM is the only way to go for these parts.

Mopar OEM quality is always the way to go when installing this sensor. No matter which mechanical pundit chimes in, it’s incredibly difficult to reach/install, especially if you’re doing it on your back. Admittedly, it would have been much easier on a lift. Definitely check out the advice for installation on line-plenty to read. Wrapping some tape around the universal joint to limit its range was a game-changer for me.Moral: Stay away from the 99.99% generic crap.
