Excellent quality. No instructions, but I had read some instructions in seller comments on a question. Here is the rub, if you never have had this on a truck before it would be really confusing to install. You have to start by inserting the bolts and basically tapping the hole with them. To do this I needed to use my power drill to drive them and provide enough pressure to tap them, then use a ratchet to fully insert them. Once fully inserted you extract them, blow out the hole, attach them to the gate assembly, and reinstall the bolts. Before you do that insert the sleeves for the lock post in the upper and lower holes. All holes are there waiting, but without already knowing how this works, the lack of instructions, and the fact that you basically tap the whole with the bolt makes this one a challenge. Make sure you are up for it before buying. If you are, it works great.

*These bolts are made of zinc and are not self tapping***Tap M10x1.50 threads into the bed holes before trying to secure the bed extender with provided bolts**First off, the product doesn’t come with instructions, although installation is pretty self-explanitory. Initially, I though the bolts would self tap their own threads. This was poor judgement. DO NOT make this mistake. I managed to snap both torx bolts sheared off in the hole in the bed with a 6 inch ratchet and not much force. I reported my error to the seller and they did a great job getting me the parts I needed to finish the job and get it done right.I wish I would have tapped the holes first, would have saved hours. The seller was very responsive and provided excellent customer service. I would certainly do business with them again.

Price was better than from Ford and I looks to be same but not sure of that as I have no way to make a direct comparison. First there are no instructions…NONE!. Ok not hard to figure out but still there could be some basic info included. A major inconvenience is they do not include the #50 Torx bit… I have many such tips in my tool boxs but not as large as required… that should have been included. Also the rubber “feet” don’t fit the height of the unit where it sits in the bed. The truck is a 2021 F-150 short bed with spray in bedliner. The main mounting screw took lots of extra work with some oil and working the bolt in and out over and over again to be able to clean out the threads in the hole provided in the truck at the factory. Care should be taken not to try to just simply screw this bolt in but to work it in and out cleaning the threads each time so not strip the threads or the Torx tip. Other than that it appears to work as it should.

There were no definitive directions on how to install but just looking at it you can figure it out pretty easily. Very sturdy and exactly what I was looking for!

I did have to do a tap for the screws as the screws are not self tapping so that was an extra $5 spent at home depot, but otherwise the install was easy and the tailgate is working perfectly and its already has come in handy a couple of times within the last 2 weeks.

Works great on our new 2023 F150 to allow extended cab room. All the screws were there with the item! Made well, thick and sturdy! Just like Ford’s option but substantially cheaper.
