the proper tool for the job, could you use something else? Sure, but if you have multiple tensioners this set has multiple pieces in multiple sizes. Didn’t bend when inserted. Works as advertised, and pretty cheap too

Never ended up needing them for my last project as a part came with a pin but in the future I might and you might too. like I said, they appear to be quality for the job intended.

The tensioner places a lot of tension on the tool. I would like to see the tool not bend or be so payable when under tension. But otherwise it was fine

Every find yourself looking for your grenade pin after pulling out? This works really well for a replacement….maybe. I did my timing belt about a year ago with 8k miles and didn’t want to by another timing kit. The belt tensioner required a pin I no longer had and this worked as a replacement

While you only need one pin, when adjusting/replacing your timing chain, not all cars/trucks use same size. With this set, you get 6 pins & they are tiny & easy to lose, but these are attached together with a carbiner clip, so that you hang them up when done or put in draw. Very convenient.

…these are must-have’s as you WILL eventually need to replace those faulty rockers and lifters.Used these for a 3.6L Pentastar (the WORST engine ever made in the history of mankind!) to lock the timing chain tensioner back. Because there are various diameters in size you are sure to find the most fitting pin.Definitely recommend!
