I bought the Metra kit for a double din Pioneer AVH-1550NEX going into a 1997 3rd gen 4Runner. You will have to cut a couple tabs off, I used a dremmel to make it flush. After everything was all said and done, the unit fit but was inboard about 1/4″. It works, but it bothered me that it wasn’t flush. I tried to use the other hole patterns and even some other clips but nothing fit flush. I had the unit installed for about a week, bothered me too much and eventually went and bought the stock aluminum brackets for about the same price and that fixed my problem. This kit probably will work with most single dins and some other double dins but for the Pioneer double din, do a little research prior to purchasing.

Got the Metro Multi Kit on time to install a new Double-Din radio into the Toyota. Turns out, I didn’t need it [the existing infrastructure was still there from a previous install]. Still, the kit looked well-built and ready for a variety of models.

Bought this to install an new Jensen stereo I bought for my Tacoma. The stereo has no CD player so it is only about 1.5 inches deep, not deep enough to screw fast to install kit. Returned for refund.

The kit was really worth the money and it was a exact fit for my stereo upgrade. It includes everything that I needed.

Ordered for my 1986 4Runner.Per the instructions, I removed the tabs on the panel that is meant for the 1st gen 4Runner/4th gen Pickup. The mounting tabs fit, however the mounting points for my single din push it too far back so that the head unit contacts the A/C ducting behind the dash before I could bolt it in.Maybe if you’re using a head unit with a more shallow depth this would work, but the Sony MEX-5000 I’m trying to install is a pretty standard depth single din.I may try and dremel the mounting pieces a bit to push the head unit forward, but for the cost there’s no reason this shouldn’t work straight out of the package.

Highly Recommended for a 99 Tacoma Double din aftermarket radio indeed.

I wasn’t sure this was going to work very well if at all. I have a 2002 Tacoma and it actually fits well and the cubby is nice too. I wish it was metal and a little more sturdy but I don’t think I’ll have any problems. You will need the screws from the stock radio to mount this. The only hardware it comes with are the screws to hold the little cubby pocket in there.

This product was easy to use and worked great. The instructions include several different makes and models for easy identification of the correct pieces to use.

This kit helped to make for a seamless installation of a touchscreen stereo in a rig from the 1980’s.No alterations of vintage OEM panels needed.
