Initial start-up is the most critical time in the life of any camshaft. COMP Cams Cam & Lifter Installation Lube is the best protective break-in lubricant on the market. Cam & Lifter Installation Lube must be spread generously on all lobes of the cam, on the bottoms of the lifters and on the distributor gear when installing a cam. Cam & Lifter Installation Lube from COMP Cams provides the instant protection you need to guard against any premature wear.

I’ll wait until I fire the engine up before giving all 5 stars.

You know this can be used to help install hoses, and many other things that are tight. Favorite is hoses. Radiator hoses, fuel lines, transmission lines etc….makes sliding hose on so much easier.

Bought this here as local parts stores don’t stock cam lube, which I thought was odd.Anyhow, it’s Comp Cams Lube.Worked fine for me, applying it to the lobes and lifter faces on my project car.Sticky stuff, I assume it “clung” to the lifters and cam lobes. Once the engine is assembled, hard to tell. Anyhow, the engine runs well, so I’ll assume the lube worked as it should.Sorry, this was my first ever rebuild.

Unable to find a Molybdenum break in lubricant for flat tappet camshafts I decided to use this product as recommended by my machine shop (this is what they use). Worked well so I would use it again in the future. My ford small block is running great!
