Materials and design seem very sturdy.Shield covers the entire front/leading edge of the hood; no paint is exposed at all.Overall, it looks pretty sleek, and offers a slight “aggressive” look to the frontend.Installation was fairly easy. The most difficult part (If I can even call it that), was lining up the existing holes, for mounting.2 VERY important notes, for proper installation:1) You will need to remove 4 of the plastic pop-rivets holding the hood gasket in place. Use some sort of pry tool to remove them. The included screws and nylon washers will mount the bug shield into these newly exposed 4 holes.2) The screw-mounting tabs on the shield go UNDER the hood gasket; i.e. the shield mount tabs slide between the hood gasket, and the hood metal itself. If you don’t get this right, the hood won’t close properly, or at all.Total install time, less than 10 minutes.I’m going on a LONG road trip next week. Will update this review with information about bug and stone deflection when I return.

Ordered this for my 2016 Ford Explorer. It came in a squashed Box. After opening it and installing it on the vehicle the hood would not close. My Husband fixed that problem by adding a few washers under the hood pin. It closes nicely now and looks good. However I would not order this product again.

Very easy to install on our 2016 Ford Explorer XLT VIN code 8. Noticeably fewer bugs on the windshield. Have not had a rock chip since we installed it. Given the mass of rocks, shouldn’t be a huge factor. But I have never seen such a magnet for rock chips as the Explorer. The only change that could contribute to no rock chips though is the bug deflector. Highly recommend. Will be getting one for my Honda.

I love this deflector! I have been wanting one of these for awhile because we live in a wooded area and the bugs are heavy in the summer, but I’ve always disliked how high they are and how much they stick out. We saw this style on a car at the dealership and I knew it was exactly what I wanted. As you can see in the pics, it’s very low-profile and not obtrusive looking– it’s hardly noticeable. The smoked grey blends in great with my vehicle, and it fits my 2017 Ford Explorer perfectly! It was easy to install–it only took my husband about half an hour to put it on. It has stayed in place–no loose spots or rattles, even with our bad roads (it has been a rough winter lol)–and it has cut down the bugs on my windshield noticeably.I received this very quickly and it was in one piece. All parts were included. I’m very happy with it.*FWIW, the stuff on the deflector in the pic is road salt, not part of the deflector 😁–it washes off well, but there’s no point right now.

both sides are short about 1 foot, does not even cover the length of the hood, the under the hood cover does not extend enough to reach the existed hole to put the screws in, very disappointed. I have a 2019 explorer , the same as any other explorer that year

Installed in a 2019 explorer sport. The holes aligned perfectly. Follow the instructions and you will be golden.

It is terrible product , the assembly not like advertise , the fittings are not in size , does not match the deflector , wrong size .

Fits like a glove, Cannot see it from inside vehicle. Has drastically reduced the bugs on my windshield. I drive past a lake every day and always had to hit the carwash before going home, now it may be a week. besides that it just looks great! They really did a good job designing this shield. Took about 10 minutes to install with no holes to drill. It is WELL worth the money!
