This was a spot on replacement for the original lock. Went right on without any issue. The cost was a bit higher than expected, but I also learned that they don’t use this type of lock anymore on their boxes. It as the cheapest price I could find and you probably won’t find a store that carries them. They usually have to be ordered anyway. Still worth the price for me. I found my toolbox locally for $50 and the Weather Guard equivalent today sells for $550!

Item was rather simple to install and works ok for my Weather Guard tool box. The construction is very similar but inserting the key is not as smooth as the OEM lock. ( a bit of grinding) Time will tell if this will degrade the internal workings of the lock. Price was my major determining factor in purchasing this product over others. I was skeptical any of the other competitors were any better. Even the Weather Guard company referred customers to a 3rd party for replacement parts.

I was gifted a nice Weathergard box, but without a key. This replacement latch worked great, and got here in a timely manner.

This replaces the original t handle and lock. I found out on the gas filled shock was the serial # to the box and was able to replace it with the right one. This was on my weather guard tool box.
