All I can say is WOW! Stupid easy to fix my stripped head sparkplug. Tap set is super high quality tool steel and has a nice threaded starter area to make sure its lined up with the original threaded hole. Put grease on it so chips dont fall into block if you didn’t remove the head to repair.

Spark plug blew back in 1990 for 87 Honda Elite 80 cc scooter. 1 thread was left. Knew compression was good. đŸ™‚ Spark plug wouldn’t stay in. Well, fast forward 30 years. Have some time now. Looked at several kits but this was the only one that stepped up in the M10x1.0 size and I didn’t want to rethread at an angle. Left head on. Used air hose, grease and youtube. Took about an hour for the actual repair and two hours to work up the courage. Need patience. But, got it done! Spark plug is solid. Engine turned over and she fired up! Expensive compared to the other kits but still cheaper than getting it done wrong and then having to pull the engine or head and having a shop repair it. So far…so good. Now, to clean the carb, get some tires, a good safety check and then hopefully she’s awakened!

I used this insert for my yamaha FZ6R (R6 engine) and it worked great! Previous owner replaced the spark plugs right before selling and left them hand tight. The threads were pulled out and the hole was actually slightly oval shaped around the top. This however was not a big deal because the shape will be corrected due to the over sizing of the hole in order to fit the insert to the hole. What i liked the most is the quality. The price kinda drove me away at first but once I received the kit I realized why. Very good quality. I work as an automotive tech and I’ve seen plenty of good and bad quality tools but this one is top notchI installed it around 500-700 miles ago and it’s still holding strong. I’m going to remove the spark plug wire to see if there is any blow byPictures show the clearance you have while working as well as the new seat this tool makes for the insert.Yamaha FZ6RYamaha R6

This product seems to be the best out there. Inserts are miles above helicoils. Unfortunately I’ve wasted almost $300 on items that still leave me frustrated and waiting on deliveries. First off, nobody should ever buy a spring type coil spark plug socket repair kit. These inserts will last much longer and don’t transfer red loctite through to your spark plug. I have it less stars because the ad should have a disclaimer saying “refer to Big-Sert kit” for failed helicoil. This is for initial repair. Secondly… the Big-Sert kit is $50 less. Could have saved me lots of time and money, and been cruising around already.
