This is a convenient assortment of 5 different tungsten electrode blends (2 each) that I ordered to allow me to try out some different types without having to buy 10-packs of each type (until now I’ve only used pure and Thoriated tungsten). At an average of $2 per electrode, if there is any premium for the mixed set compared with individual prices for this or any other brand, it’s not very much. The ground finish of the electrodes is as good as any. The package was a little annoying to get open the first time because I thought I might snap all of my electrodes in half.The pure and thoriated electrodes I’ve tested so far work fine, and I can’t tell whether they are better or worse than others I use. However I have noted that the Lanthanated tungsten seems to work pretty well for both steel and aluminum on DC and AC without having to swap between the other two types. I haven’t tried the Cerium or Rare Earth electrodes yet.Recommended if you want to experiment.

Real Thorium. Good for testing gamma ray spectrometer or Geiger counter. I haven’t planned to weld with it, but it fits my purpose.

Die Lieferung kam zwar zu spät und die Elektroden sind in Vergleich teurer als die Konkurrenz, sie funktionieren aber einwandfrei. Im Gegensatz zur Produktbeschreibung sind allerdings, wie erwartet, keine 11 sondern nur die üblichen 10 enthalten.

As a new tig welder, I had no idea what the differences were between the Tungsten types. This kit gave me a taste of each kind and I was able to learn what I liked best. The differences are more minor than what I expected. I was able to lay down a decent bead with all of em.In the end, I prefer lanthanated and ceriated due to their versatility. I can buy a bunch of these to run on all polarities and weld pretty much any type of material. I guess you could say it is an economic decision
