After the Hyundai/Kia theft problem came to light I did a TON of research on the most effective steering wheel lock. Most articles rated the StopLock very highly and I can see why. The materials are durable, the prongs for the lock are made of metal and it is a bit heavy. To best fit my 2020 Hyundai Tucson, I turn the wheel about 45 degrees to the right and lock it around two sections of wheel (that way a thief would have to make two cuts to get it off.) The prongs around the back secure to the steering wheel snugly leaving little room for tampering. It takes about 15 seconds to place and lock the device. The bright yellow tongue looking piece is odd but functional to keep the wheel from turning a full revolution. By securing it at that angle, I can still attach my steering wheel tray to enjoy my lunch while parked. When driving, I put the heavy lock end on the floor of the passenger side closest to the passenger seat and console, then lean the yellow part on the console closest to me. It doesn’t move and isn’t too much in the way if I do actually have a passenger.Since this is a UK product, I would imagine that US thieves would be less familiar with this versus something like the Club, which would is an additional deterrent. While it is pricier than some of the other options, I feel that this device is sturdier than most of the others may make a potential thief think my car isn’t worth the trouble, which gives me peace of mind. I am happy with the purchase.

Takes a little practice to put it on and take it off the steering wheel, but once you get your routine down, it becomes easier to use. Quite heavy but sturdy. If you can, lock the “claw” end of the unit so that each of the two claws are on opposite sides of the steering wheel spoke. This keeps the whole unit from sliding off of a cut steering wheel.

This was just what I was looking for. I wanted a lock to look like it was securing the steering wheel, but without going through the slow process of locking and unlocking. From the outside, the metal closure looks entirely locked and the yellow bar is clearly visible. It takes about 5 seconds to put on and take off.I own a vehicle that looks like fun for a joy ride. I live in a city where car theft is common. The vehicle had been broken into a couple of times, fortunately they couldn’t start it. Since using the lock visible from the outside, the vehicle hasn’t been touched.

Ottimo prodotto, robusto e facile da ancorare al volante della vettura. Non da alcun problema l’airbag posizionato sul volante grazie alla curva che ne facilità l’installazione. Sembra veramente un ottimo deterrente per i maledetti ladri d’auto.Consiglio l’acquisto.!

Driving a brand new car of a brand that thieves think is easily stolen. The new cars are not that easy anymore but the amateurs still think they are. After a couple of thieves tore up the car in an unsuccessful attempt to steal it, I decided to install additional disincentives for future thieves. An obvious disincentive was a steering wheel lock, but after watching You Tube demonstrations, it was clear that smaller, flimsier steering wheel locks could be easily removed or defeated. This one was also eventually defeated, but it took a LOT of effort to get it removed; effort that added time to the process and increased the likelihood that somebody would notice and alert the police. It is pricey, but I have confidence that no car thief who is in a rush and afraid of getting caught will attempt to try grabbing my car again (too much trouble). There is no perfect solution, but using this device along with other “defense in depth” protection measures should be effective.Note that it is heavy and a bit cumbersome but it fits my car and sends the right message to a wanna-be thief.

The Stoplock Pro Elite fits perfectly with zero wiggle room between the A-pillar and windshield. Steering wheel needs to be perfectly straight to get it to fit. If parking on a hill, just curb your wheels then rotate your steering wheel a little back to center to get the Stoplock to fit. Turning the key to unlock feels a little sticky. Hopefully the locking mechanism will not break. Comes with a thin black storage cover.

We recently bought this steering wheel lock after having selected it carefully in the very extensive range of locks on the market. It has a sleek design that hooks in easily. With one simple key turn, the lock opens and you hook it across a short intersection of your steering wheel. In case anyone tries to cut the steering wheel, it needs to be cut on at least two spots, because the 2 hooks give double security. At first I was dreading to use this kind of lock but you use it as a bicycle lock, so easy. The yellow color makes it immediately visible to potential thieves. The only downside is that it’s a bit heavier than the other locks. However, it’s not that heavy that it looses its ease of use. For SUV type cars I recommend buying the elite version. This lock is more expensive than others but it is definitely worth it. I leave my car with peace of mind because I know it’s one of the best locks on the market.

Product is really sturdy, my car was stolen so I needed something to protect it. Got this along with the compustar t13 system. This steering wheel lock is heavy duty, it will take some time to learn how to lock/unlock while placing it on the steering wheel but once you figure it out. This thing is legit. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks now and I do not regret my purchase I can go to bed at night with a peace of mind.

Parfait !

Like it happened to other customers after very few uses the lock cylinder jammed and the key didn’t open it anymore. I am just lucky that it didn’t happen when it was attached to the steering wheel. Don’t buy.

This is an awesome deterrent for my Holden VF commodore . I’ve literally seen people walk up to it about to do something then quickly walk off .A must have for HOLDEN VF SS owners

I don’t know if it has deterred or not. However, this is much thicker and tougher than any other wheel lock I have seen. Took a minute to figure out how to fit it on the wheel. It is a bit heavy. Works on my Alfa Romeo.

I’ve used one of these for 20years. Always a good indication of quality when the design hasn’t changed in all that time. Means they got it right first time! I bought this one for my daughter’s car.Absolute bargain, less than half the normal price, just because the packaging was damaged. The lock itself is brand new!
