Good look, good fit. This is a well made plenum that integrates well into a ram air system. It is very easy to remove to access the carburetor. The minute you open the box, you can determine the high quality of this piece. It is nicely cast and polished aluminum with a precision fit to the carburetor and induction tubing. It felt like my car would have run faster if all I did was put this plenum on the front seat and looked at it. I get a noticeable improvement in the crispness, acceleration and response of my engine. My application is to an in-line 6 cylinder engine in a classic street rod. The engine has a Holley 390 cfm 4 barrel carburetor. The addition of a Ram air system has helped me run a leaner, cooler air mixture to the engine which increases performance and optimizes fuel consumption. This plenum is a simple size and fit. The look is one of function and performance rather than some overbearing piece of chrome decoration.

Perfect fit intake hat for my 1998 Grand Cherokee V8. No hood modifications required and I even have an throttle body spacer. Stock ZJ throttle body has an offset intake bolt so I made an s-bend intake bolt out of a piece of threaded rod from the hardware store. This Spectre intake bolts down nice and snug and beats the heck out of the OEM plastic and aftermarket plastic intake hats. I also bought Squirrelly 4″ to 3.5″ inch 45 degree coupler to mate this intake hat to my CAI. My mostly stock 5.2 Magnum motor definitely responds better and pulls harder with much improved airflow. I have an upgraded ignition coil and plug wires. Strongly recommend for ZJ V8 motor!!

I used this on my 1961 Corvette while my FI was being rebuilt. Very minimal clearance with a 1406 carb. This is the perfect answer, fit like a dream and looks great. Quality is outstanding. Neck narrows down but does NOT starve for air at full acceleration. Thank you

this worked a little too well in my application, its actually too low profile! i had to get some spacers after all.If you are running a Holley Truck Avenger this WILL NOT work for you, but thats not the products fault! i made it work and im more then happy with it!

I hope this review helps someone in the future. If you are like me, you wanted to get some cooler air into your engine. This is a good product to do that, it’s well built and decently polished. The best air temp I saw was about 20 degrees over ambient. I think this is about an improvement of near 10-20 degrees which should equal 1-2% hp difference. However, if you are still running a carburetor you won’t see that since a carburetor has no way of knowing temperature.The issue and the reason I return this product is because it zapped so much power it wasn’t even funny. If you are running a v8 with over 300 hp you will need to look elsewhere. At WOT I lost about 25kpa of manifold pressure and had to pull 5% fuel to compensate for the lack of airflow. Some fellow on the internet dynoed the two main caps from spectre and found this cap cost about 75HP and to be honest it felt like it. Imagine undoing the head and cam swap with a simple intake. Back to the old school filter for me.As a result I am leaving it with 3 starsConstruction – 4.5/5Finish – 3/5Function – 4/5 (it did lower air temp)Application – 1/5 (murders airflow)

I am using this on a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ, with the 5.9 Magnum motor. (Will work with 5.2 aswell) the factory air hat on the Grands, is puny to say the least. This is larger in every aspect, but still remains low profile, and doesn’t hit the hood. The only thing I had to get was a bigger mounting bolt as this is larger than the factory air hat. Packaging was good, even came in a little micro fiber bag to keep it clean. However it was still dirty inside. Make sure to clean it out. The intake hole is 4 inches so make sure you have a good size intake tube. All in all, pretty pricey, but worth it! It pulls harder now!

IT CAME WELL PACKAGED , NO DAMAGE , AND IS JUST WHAT I NEEDED , SOME REVIEWS STATE THE POLISH JOB WAS NOT SO GOOD, BUT I JUST HIT IT WITH MY POLISH WHEEL WITH SOME COMPOUND , 2 MINUTES AND IT WAS GOOD, HAPPY WITH IT

I bought the intake plenum because there was not enough clearance for an air cleaner on my 1978 Cobra.The plenum fit well and gave me the clearance I needed. I would buy one again if I ever need more clearance between the carburetor and hood.The only take away is that the finish isn’t all that great. Sorry I don’t have any close up pictures of it. I will polish it up and make it look nicer.

In no way would I consider this item polished unless you polish with sandpaper. Otherwise it is as advertised.
