This is a very compact tool for emergency escape from a car. It is a window breaker and seat belt cutter in a tool about the size of a lipstick. Each end is covered by a cap with a rubber seal to keep out moisture. The window breaker is housed inside a spring-loaded plunger that shoots the steel pin with immense force to break glass. The seat belt cutter needs to be pushed instead of pull through the seat belt to cut. The blade is recessed into the cutter, to prevent injury. The package includes a holder with adhesive backing, and a sample glass to test. That was a little fun but also good to actually be able to try it out. Be sure to put the sample glass inside a container as the tempered glass will shatter, sending pieces everywhere. It is a very inexpensive safety tool to have for emergencies. However, the proliferation of similar tools in the wrong hands have also caused an increase in vehicle thefts.

I received this product through the amazon vine program at no cost to me. This review is based on my general expectations as if I purchased this product. I was skeptical at first when I pulled this out. The construction is solid, but light weight. I tested the blade on card board and it cut smoothly. Then I noticed there was a piece of glass provided in the kit to prove that it works. Sure enough, I pressed the tool against the glass with about 10# of pressure, and “SNAP”; just like that the glass was shattered. I plan to give this tool to my wife to keep in her car “just in case”. I would buy another and recommend this product.

The instructions are impossible to follow; especially for the seatbelt cutting aspect. The sample for breaking the glass was NOT safety glass and I had 2 minor lacerations from trying to use the tool.

This is one of those things you buy hoping you’ll never actually need it. I grabbed this safety hammer for peace of mind, and I’m glad to have it in the car. It comes with a little glass circle so you can test it, which is reassuring to know it works though I haven’t had to try it in a real emergency (and hopefully never will).It also has a seatbelt cutter built in. I can’t say how well that part works, but it’s nice to know it’s there just in case. The tool itself feels sturdy enough and small enough to keep in the glove box or side door pocket without being in the way. Overall, it’s a smart thing to keep in the car, especially as a mom who’s always driving kids around.

This emergency glass breaker is one of those tools you hope you’ll never need—but if the situation arises, you’ll be grateful to have it. The manufacturer even includes a small glass disk for testing, though I chose to try it on a paper notebook instead. Impressively, the punch went straight through the first 10 pages and left a deep dent through another 10, which gave me confidence in its strength.The tool also comes with a built-in seatbelt cutter, which adds extra peace of mind in an emergency. My only concern is the mount—it seems like it might come loose during a serious collision, so I’ll likely look for a more secure placement in my car.Overall, this is a solid, practical safety item to keep on hand. I definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to be prepared for the unexpected.

I really like the looks of this, but I will say this much the ability to get the ends off of the breaker to use. It does take a lot of effort and I’m afraid for a child or someone that’s quite elderly. They will struggle to take the caps off and then the amount of strength or pressure to get the breaker to work Takes a lot of force so I’m afraid that this is better used by younger adults. Build quality is nice and the finish is nice and the mounting bracket is OK it’s plastic and it’d be easy to pull the breaker off of the bracket so I’m worried that a bump in a road would dislodge it. This device looks a lot like a flashlight, so it would be easily overlooked by someone if they didn’t know what it was. I think getting it in a red color and if the people that make it would put something on the outside that says window breaker that would be really helpful.

Well made construction. Comes with 3 keys. The tip of one side can be used to break glass in case of an emergency. Not as heavy as the other ones. I’m petite and the older models, not this one, were so heavy and cumbersome to use. Installs in seconds. I park in my driveway and now I feel my car is much safer.Highly recommend this item.
