I’ve had roof top carriers before. None of them were anywhere even close to this one.It says heavy duty. It actually is heavy duty. Sturdy as all get out. Heavy duty plastic. Seals tight. I could stand on this thing and it wouldn’t blink.The clasps look like those silicone ones you get on coolers. They are not those. They are actually hard plastic, with a hinge on them. You hook the hinge under a clasp and then the handle snaps down to clamp it shut. Sounds more complicated than it is, point being, the lid clasps are as high quality as the rest of the unit.Comes with a bag of extra screws and rivets I guess in case anything breaks.The hinges, also built to last. Machined aluminium with a heavy duty hydraulic rod as well. Hinges are the weak point in my previous cartoon carriers, this one has hinges that are serious.Cartop carriers are always expensive, even for low quality ones that won’t stand up to repeated opening and closing. This one on the other hand is more than worth the price. Pretty sure this is the last carrier I’ll own, and I’m not going to have any frustrations using it. Really happy, as I said, this is high quality and more than I expected.

It is a monstrous storage box that you can rely on for sure. It’s pricey but if you want the reliable and yet want something rugged, this is it. Very sturdy construction and I can’t wait for the summer to use it for camping etc.
