Holds the latch to the handle. My tailgate wouldn’t open. I searched on youtube, and several videos said to replace this part. Sure enough, I looked, and it was broken and one rod had fallen out. Seems a little beefier than the OEM, but essentially the same. It took all of about 2 minutes to install.I couldn’t find one at the local auto parts store. This pack of 10 should last a long time.Make sure to get the plastic bezel that covers the handle opening at the same time. They get brittle easy, and break when you try to take them off. You have to remove the bezel to see if yours is broken.

I bought what was supposed to be a matching part by Dorman through local autoparts store, they did not fit and were plastic not nylon. This product seemed to be an exact match for the OEM part and worked perfectly.
