Super heavy duty because it needs to be. A lot of current is needed to start a vehicle.This system is pretty neat and works exactly as described. It came with lots of adapters that give you options for hooking up to different battery posts and wiring setups. I hooked it up in my car, but didn’t read the instructions carefully. When I cut off the voltage to the car, I lost my “memory” for my miles per gallon log, and had to read the car manual to figure out how to reprogram the automatic window open setting. Totally my fault. I was just testing. Ultimately I will be using this in a battery box in my trunk that runs ham radio equipment up in the front seat, along with a few dash cams that I like to keep running when I turn the car off sometimes. This remote will allow me to turn off the power remotely without having to pop the trunk and flip the breaker when I know I won’t need the cameras for a while. Great product and I think it is a pretty good value especially since you get TWO remote key fobs. I’m considering a second one to use for its intended purpose.

The old Chevy Silverado has an issue where there is a wire touching something it shouldn’t (no clue where that connection is after all these years). Usually takes about 1 weekend (2 days) for the battery to drain to a point that it struggles to turn over and 3 days it’s pretty much dead. This took care of that problem and it’s been doing good for the past couple weeks.-Installation is easy, even for side-mounted terminals.-Comes with two controllers so you can keep one on a keychain and the other as backup just in case. You can however use the built-in buttons to turn it on so even better backup even if you lost both of controllers somehow.-A great option for some solar system setups. Tempted to pick one up for my DIY solar system as I’d be able to turn lights and other stuff on/off with the remotes.Note:-If you are working with side-mounted, screw terminal batteries, you will have to switch out parts to make it work. It pretty much comes with the parts you need for this and it’s a simple and straightforward process, but the default (shipped) setup is designed for traditional post terminal batteries.

I would have given this five stars but it takes a bit of ingenuity to install this on a GM side post battery. If you have a top post battery this would be simple to install. As far as quality, my first impression is good. The package was heavier than I thought it would be and the switch does not feel cheaply made. I have a late 90’s Chevy truck and something was draining the battery. It is usually not a problem if I drive it daily but if it sits for a few days or the weather is bitter cold it causes trouble. I couldn’t figure out what was draining the battery so I decided a disconnect was the way to go for now. Had my truck had a top post battery I could have had it installed in about five minutes. It took about a half hour to figure out how to connect the disconnect to my side post battery. I have a stockpile of bolts and nuts in my garage so I sorted through it to find the hardware I needed. If you don’t have extra hardware lying around you might have to make a trip to the hardware store if you have a side post GM battery.

I have an ATV that has a slow battery drain due to several accessories I installed. It’s fine if I use it often, but it sits sometimes for a month or more. Then I have to jump the battery or charge it before I can start it. This disconnect is the perfect fix for me. It is very easy to install and adaptable to almost any vehicle if you’re handy. I installed it in my front storage compartment and extended the wires to reach my battery. It just worked, right out of the box. The remotes were programmed from the factory and they work from 25+ feet away. The voltage display is a very convenient feature that I’m sure will help me troubleshoot in the future. At $35.99 at the time of order, it falls below others that do exactly the same thing, so I think this one is actually a bargain. This is a perfect solution for me. Recommended.

works exactly as youd expect. have this on one of my older trucks that had a parasitic draw and kept killing the battery. had this hooked up and it seems to have completely solved that issue. would give it a 5/5 but the terminals do feel a little bit cheap, will have to see how they hold up corrosion wise but nothing major.

Easy enough instructions. Got this for my car since it does sit for long periods between drives. Trying to save the battery and from errant charges going through the system while it is not being driven. I like that is has a lower power draw for the device compared to snother one of these I looked at and that these devices also work as remote cutoff switches. Lately we have had car thieves trying to break into vehicles and drive off. Mine doesnāt have the fancy phone connected app like my partners car. Hers is fancy and the thieves already tried to steal it and she never got the notice. This way they will not get anywhere with the power cutoff, unless they brought a tow truck. Good price for the and a good size. I have a new car project to install this once the weather clears up

I recently acquired a used winch for my truck and some of the electrical connections were not with it. I was reluctant to wire it straight to the battery for one reason, long ago I had a winch that I could not shut off, the switch stuck. It was a disaster because it tore up the winch before I could get the hood open to remove the cables, So for safety reasons I wanted to use this Remote Battery Disconnect Switch 12V 240A with Led Voltage Display as an extra measure to prevent that from happening again. It took some additional work to get the cables all good and attached, then secured from vibrating around during normal driving, but it worked well. All my tests worked fine, it shut off the power via emote with an instant push. Never can be too safe, just have to make sure those remote batteries are good and test often! Love the digital voltage meter on it!
