If you are looking at Opti-Lube you already know all about it so it basically comes down to price. Opti-Lube is sold through a dealer network with MAP pricing so theoretically it should be about the same price no matter where you buy it. You can find slightly lower prices here and there but you have to look. Ordering from here I did not pay tax on it so that saved me a few bucks as well. The XPD itself is a winner, tested at multiple labs and always has the best ratings for lubricity and cetane performance which are the only two things you and your diesel need to be concerned with, well except in the winter up North you need some anti-gel as well. Good news is Opti-Lube has a formula with that as well.

I used this product previously in my HD GMC and had good results. Got about 1-2 MPG improvement, helped keep the problematic CP4 HPFP happy, and reduced the amount of times the truck would go into a regen. Fast forward a few years and now I have a Colorado 2.8 Diesel. I’ve used this product for about 9 tanks of diesel and found the results to be comparable to my HD truck. An issue I have is that the hand pump once you start nearing the end of the bottle will not suck up the remaining Opti-Lube. It also leaks periodically

Optilube XPD is one of the best diesel fuel additives on the market. It is pricey but well worth it in the end to know that you are doing the best you can to prolong the life of your diesel motor! I shop around to try to find the best price for it but most of the time it is cheapest on Amazon!

Diesel fuel has no spec for lubricity and cetane in the USA. Additive packages vary by brand, location, climate etc. XPD routinely wins independent testing for lubricity. Late model CDI/TDI engines with mechanical high pressure fuel pumps and brutally expensive injectors will last far longer using XPD. I’ve been using this for years in Mercedes and VW diesel engines. Improved economy, drivability and quieter operation. 30 years as an independent German marques mechanic.

I’ve been using this product for 50K miles and my injectors, HPFP and lift pump sound happy. Truck fires faster, idles smoother and seems to struggle less overall. MPG increase is up for discussion. I’ve never had a water-in-fuel light, gelled fuel, algae build up etc; and I’ve had the truck sit for 6 months and still fired right up.I see this as cheap insurance as modern fuel systems are pricey. If this helps prolong any fuel system component, then I’ll always use it. Happy and repeat customer!!

After finding out how much new injectors would cost, this is cheap insurance! The hand pump they included did not fit the mouth of the gallon container so it would not screw on.
