The cylinder does not fit the four wheelers or listed. Installed mine but the intake side were the carb boot bolts on is at a slightly different angle now have to buy a different boot to make it work. Talked to the company they stated that it is the correct cylinder for my fourwheeler. I sent them pictures of the difference and asked them to pay for the 50 carb boot to make it fit. But they refused and I can’t return because I had installed it.

Contacted seller for assistance and they persisted to request the VIN number. Due to the age of the ATV, VIN isn’t legible, would have thought that they would be able to tell me which piston would match their cylinder, but they weren’t able to. Shipped it back for prompt refund.

Very good replacement cylinder. Mine had some extra aluminum casting around the sleeve that needed ground down, and one chunk of aluminum in the transport port that would have broken off and ruined the engine is I didn’t catch it. Just inspect thoroughly first and it’s a good replacement. Matching piston worked well, all tolerances we’re good

Bore is perfect but tons of casting flash that would eventually fall off in ports to clean up before assembly.

For the price it’s good but be ready to do some work. Bore checked out good. But before you install on your Polaris 400l check for casting slag especially around carb intake port and exhaust. Intake ports are roughed in and you’ll need to get a file or a Dremel tool to basically port your intake into spec no big deal. And in the cooling passages take a flat head and poke around see if you can brake any extra chunks off. My honest opinion pretty good for the money. But don’t be disappointed if you blow your top end before brake in. For not checking things over. 3 stars because it’s advertised as factory replacement and ready to go. It’s not ready to go but it is somewhat factory replacement.

Fit my scrambler 400 great and was easy to install. Seem to be pretty durable so far for the price.

I seemed to have been lucky in that mine didn’t have a casting to remove like some of the others on here. The angle on the carburetor side is not the same, however my boot was cracked so i had to replace it anyways. I noticed that the replacement boots on eBay didn’t all look the same. so i looked for one that was at an angle that would compensate for the change. It worked out perfectly for me.

Used this replacement cylinder to repair my 2000 Polaris 400cc 2 stroke Xplorer ATV. Worked great and was a direct replacement. I rebuilt this machine as a gift for my nephew when he turned 17 this last summer. The machine fired right up after the rebuilt and still runs today. Good product and would recommend to anybody looking to rebuild a similar machine.
