NICHE DIFFERENTIAL ACTUATOR
The actuator is one of the most important parts of any machine that is expected to carry a load or exert any type of force to fulfill its function. Actuators can be found in many different types of machines in varying shapes and sizes including planes, cranes, vehicles, doors, and even every day household appliances. An actuator is the part of a machine that is responsible for its movement. It achieves this by converting incoming forms of energy into mechanical energy to facilitate some form of either rotary or linear motion. These actuators can then be further broken down into different types depending on the kind of incoming initial energy being converted such as electrical, pneumatic (gas), or hydraulic (fluid). Once the actuator is in motion, a feedback loop is created that enables it to adjust both how much torque and energy is needed to complete the necessary motion in real time.
