This item is a brand new 2 Barrel Carburetor.
This Carburetor will operate suitably with fuel pressures ranging from 1-1/2 psi to 4 psi, with a desired setting of 2-1/2 psi to 3 psi. Fuel pressure from 4 psi to 7 psi will cause the carburetor to run excessively rich and may cause flooding. Flooding or leaks caused by excessive fuel pressure do not indicate a faulty carburetor. A fuel regulator such as # 560-58500 must be utilized in order to keep proper fuel pressure at the 1-1/2 to 4 psi range.
There are no provisions for a vacuum advance line. Ford & Mercury engines 1949-1953 using stock distributors will need an alternative place to connect the vacuum line.
Note: Not recommended for use with Ethanol fuels.
Our independent tests produced these flow numbers:
3″ of Vacuum – 60 CFM
10″ of Vacuum – 110 CFM
15″ of Vacuum – 136 1/2 CFM
28″ of Vacuum – 184 CFM

The Rat Fink sez,For the 50 Ford Tudor with 239 Flathead. This carb bolts right on and will work. It utilizes the original style air cleaner that clamps onto the neck. It is identical to the pictures. It is simple to adjust and tune just like the 94.I pulled off a holly94 that ran fine. I gotta say I don’t think this 97 adds any power or throttle response, they both run the same to me. My ignition system has been upgraded to electronic, so it’s no longer points and condenser. And if you are wondering, a 50 ford with a 3 speed and overdrive will cruise at 70mph, it just takes a while to get her up to speed.I like this carb and think it’s a decent value, it works for me so I would recommend it. I really can’t say how it would work in a multi-carb setup.

If you like the idea of hot rod cars, the Stromberg 97 is one of the most popular classics. Even reproductions are quite expensive, this is a very economic version. And other than not having the large logo on it, this seems just like the original piece. It is just as pictured, and is easy to fit in and install. If you’ve adjusted the original, you’ll find this familiar. I don’t know if it performs quite as well as you’d imagine the legendary carburetor to run, but it does work cleanly. It sounds good. As replacement parts go, this was a solid one that was easy to put in.

It might work ok but the lower section of the carburetor is not the same as what is in the photograph.
