One of the best DIY repairs for my boat. I have two Mercury Smart Craft SC1000 gauges and they were cooked. LCDs were basically unusable. Lenses cracked. Just trash. I purchased this kit and watched a great YouTube video on how to do the repair in the gauges. Took a couple of hours but they’re as good as new. Highly recommended!

Not too difficult an install of new lcd screens and lenses. Hardest part is getting ribbon cables to seat! See online how to videos. Look like new and can read gauges in daylight at half contrast and brightness! Mercury smartcraft gauges from 2004!

LED worked well. Kit Instructions only contain information for lens replacement. They were very helpful. Had a question about LED install. Called their number and someone answered right away and had the answer that helped considerably. There is a black bar that holds the ribbon into the connector. That bar needs to be pulled out by the ends to release the old connector and create a gap for the new connector. Would be nice if there were instructions for the LED replacement as well.

So far replacement parts seemed to fit and replaced fairly easy. The LCD replacement ribbon connection was the most difficult to connect. Watch youtube videos.

This worked pefectly for me. It is a little challenging as there are differences in some gauges. The mechanism in the Smartcraft gauges securing the cover can be different and that caused some difficulty for me. However, I was able to get them installed and the gauges look brand new.

You can easily save over $500 compared with buying two new gauges with this lens and LCD replacement kit which restores difficult to read gauges to their brand new condition. My 18 year old gauges (speedometer and tachometer) still work great but the LCD displays for the selectable system information were too dim to read. The repair took about 30 minutes per gauge BUT that was after watching a few YouTube videos showing what to do. The instructions in my kit only covered the lens replacement and nothing about the LCD and attached ribbon cable. For the most difficult part, I ended up taping a narrow strip of paper to the new ribbon cable before attempting to pull it through the circuit board slot as the cable is quite short otherwise. Thanks to GaugeSaver for making this repair available. Note that GaugeSaver also offers a repair service so you can send in your gauges if you don’t feel comfortable doing the repair yourself. I’ve included before and after photos.
