What can I say, it’s a pretty cool little tool. Professional feel, definitely an upgrade over a cheap and basic ELM327 dongle with a free app (such as Veepeak with Car Scanner app). The Kingbolen Ediag Elite utilizes it’s own app that has countless features and options with a sleek look. Still in the process of exploring, but overall, it does the basics (plus way more) that I want it to. If anything, it probably has more features than I want or need (I’m an at home DIY’er, not a professional mechanic). Best part is, the only cost of this tool is the initial purchase. There is no annual subscription or other forced upgrade options. This is the single biggest reason I chose this tool over the other popular affordable bluetooth bi-directional options such as Topdon, Thinkdiag, Launch, Mucar, Xtool (no sub but more $) and other more expensive mainstream basic options like Bluedriver (non bi-directional, no subscription fee but has much less features than this mini powerhouse Kingbolen Ediag Elite). I did a ton of research to find the most affordable bi-directional bluetooth OBD2 diagnositic device with no subscription fees, and this is what I landed on. Couldn’t find anything else even close. App has an easy user interface and nice reports. One minor thing so far, would be the scan process is ‘slightly’ on the slower side (not unbearable, but seems like it could and should be much quicker), but wonder if this is something they’d be able to address with an update? If you’re on the fence, give it a try. Customer service seems to be friendly and responds fairly quick if you may run into any issues. I’m sure they’d be willing to help solve a problem if you were to run into anything and may consider a return if you’re regretting it (check with return policy first, not sure on that, don’t take this as any type of advice). So far, I like it. Will continue to test it out and will update review if anything major is discovered.

First the unboxing. Everything is packed nice and neat with the scan-tool in its own carrying case. Setup was a breeze and no issues. Had a car with a random TPM error. I have cleared the code with another tool but the light stays on. So far after clearing the light has not came on. The error was about reading a tire pressure. Yet in the tool and the screen it would show the correct tire pressure and identifier. I do like the carrying case that comes with it. It keeps the tool dust free. If you’re looking for a tool to diagnose your vehicle, this one is recommended.

I have a tablet with android 14 and an older device with android 9. Their app will download on the older device but not my new one (google store states its unsupported for device). In signing up with older device I was not able to get past setup account. Kept responding with username already used regardless of what I chose. Finally I put in an insane username that no sane human would use and it still responded with already used. Likely buggy software for the older android version. So since I’m unable to use the new device or the old device this thing is a brick to me without ever plugging it into an OBD II port. So I’m unable to even buy a tablet or ???? since the latest android version isn’t supported. WTH?

Does a lot and pretty easy to use. I have 2 Toyota Camrys and you can download all the info you need ,free with updates. Some other auto makers charge for the info. See Scotty Kilmer for a good explanatory video. Does a lot for the price!

My more expensive scanner would not scan my Ford fusion and even caused codes and I plugged it in. This one even being cheaper worked on the Ford fusion and gave me all the information I needed. This is an excellent tool for the money and gives you so much information it’s not funny. I highly recommend it.
