Just received tent for Gen 2 Honda Ridgeline and wanted to clear up a bunch of questions I’ve seen asked and not addressed. I am very pleased with the purchase. It is a dome tent with sufficient shock corded poles for good support, subtle color coding of poles and correct pockets, and well written instructions. Someone complained about leaks and I’ve got to wonder if they applied seam sealer as you should with all new tents. Haven’t had it in the rain yet but appears to be good quality fabric and you can always apply a spray to enhance protection easily. Someone asked about removing assembled tent from truck to drive around. If you disconnected about 11 straps fastening to vehicle, I don’t know why that wouldn’t work with 2 people to lift it out of the bed. Someone also asked about whether a roof rack is necessary. The answer is no. In this situation, the instructions say to fasten the straps for the rain cover to the grab handles inside the vehicle (front row), then close the door. (I may try bungee cords with plastic hooks and use outside mirrors. The disadvantage would be that it wouldn’t be as easy to open doors). I purchased off Amazon and it shipped very promptly from Cawood Honda in Port Huron, Mi at a price my local dealer wouldn’t get close to. As others have stated, it has access to the below bed storage and 110 volt port in side of bed. It also has a side pocket a sufficient distance from doors to store key fob without enabling someone to open the door if you’ve locked it. There is also provision for a “gear loft” – about 1 square foot net that fastens in the top center of the tent sufficient for light stuff like phones, wallets… Good luck and happy camping!

At first I thought the price was too high for what it seemed to be a regular tent that goes on the truck bed. But after using it on my last camping trip, I ended up loving it. It is just a regular tent but it fits the truck bed of the Ridgeline wonderfully. I like that there are “shelves” on the left and right sides to place lantern, snacks, bottles, etc. I also ended up using the truck bed outlet, which the tent has access to, to charge my phone and turn on my fan. The tent setup was easy, but I don’t think it would be that easy for a one person, especially shorter person, to do by him/herself. The instruction manual is pretty good and easy to follow with color coded poles. My truck has a paragon bed cover and I was able to set up the tent without taking the truck cover off but you would lose about 6 inches of head space. Lastly, I had a full mattress and it was pretty tight, not sure if a queen would fit. Overall, I love this tent and had a few camper neighbors asking about it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first use of the truck tent. Being off the ground is way easier for us oldies and kept the tent drier and cleaner than a tent on the ground. We used a couple of camping mats and were really very comfortable. Keeping the upper flaps open reduced the amount of moisture on the walls from our breathing on the cold nights. We did have a small heater we set on the edge of truck bed for a cold night. It had a button to switch off if it tipped. This kept the condensation from building up on the tent walls. We are going to look for a small fan for the warmer nights to keep it comfortable. After putting it up once at home, we had no trouble putting it up and taking it down on our trip. We got really good at it, in fact, and could put it up or down in about fifteen minutes. The structure is sturdy and the only real issue was that the poles holding up the canopy over the door were tough to get in their pockets, especially the first time. The dreaded purple poles. We lifted it off the truck bed twice to be able to drive the truck out from our campsite and had no trouble lifting it back on without removing the bedding or camp mats.In all, it was a great experience and we look forward to going out again.

I can’t afford an RV, but this tent works very well as an alternative. I’m 6-foot-3, so I needed something that would use the entire Ridgeline bed. This does. The tent seems a bit overcomplicated, but then I’ve used it only in fair weather. It certainly is spacious and has plenty of ventilation options. I think it’s worth your consideration.

Likes:We have 2019 ridgeline black edition. The color and fit of the tent was great. We do have a bed cover and the tent still fit. It has a spacious interior. The first night we used it, a heavy storm hit the area. Our tent was dry while our kids woke up wet. The pockets and zips are functional and allow access to the trucks accessory panel and bed cooler. are placed perfectly.Dislikes:The set up took longer than expected. When it is hot the last thing you want to do is deal with a long tent set up. We used it at the race track and to camp on the beach.Tip: watch a video to help set it up, more helpful than instructions in our opinions. If you pull the straps too tight you may have a hard time zipping up the tent door. Overall I would recommend this product due to great fit, perfect for two people to be off the ground camping.

I love this tent and the idea of being up off the ground. It takes time to set up for the first time, but we hope it will get easier. The low review is because one of the tent poles snapped as we were setting it up on our first camping trip. We were able to rig something up so that we could still sleep in it. We will change the review if we get a replacement pole from Honda because we really like the tent.

Nice Honda tent, but for one person with arthritis, too much of a struggle. The seller was wonderful. Tent arrived quickly and return was smooth.

This product clearly is meant for this vehicle . I tried less expensive ones that don’t have the additional openings for access to trunk and rear window . Poles to connect appear solid and not cheaply made
