First of all this is made well and bolted right up with no installation headaches. That alone is a miracle these days. I have a large-ish stereo install which takes up most of the area behind the front seats. so, I had a version of this made out of wood years ago. My wood shelf worked as a proof of concept, but it flexed and squeaked when loaded up for a trip, didn’t take (ab)use well, and overall wasn’t a good long term solution. I thought about a complete rebuild before before stumbling upon this. Wood supplies might have cost as much as this, not to mention my time. Anyway, on this, I can fit tools, recovery gear, tent, and my clothes bag on top and still have visibility out of all windows even with the hardtop on. There’s lots of slats for tying everything down when doing jeep things. A Yeti 45 or Igloo 52 fits underneath height wise.

Very nice looking and strong! Installation was a breeze! Only thing that would make it better is if it was made of aluminum but that is my opinion.

Easy to install and works quite well. It does each and everything I expected it to do. Mostly my dog and a fridge ride the shelf but I have had it loaded up with tool boxes a few times. The cargo net is fine but you will w t to replace the plastic clips because they bend quite easily. I have a soft top on my Jeep and it does not go down as far because the front support for the shelf stops downward travel of the roof bars and now the roof only retracts to about the top of the third brake light. I could cut a notch in the support but I’d anticipate long term problems if I did so.No issues with the product itself and I will recommend this as a solution for travel and camping using the small cargo space of the TJ.I rate products beginning from 3 stars. If it does what I want it gets 3. If it performs either better than or worse than expected it goes up or down from 3 accordingly.

I deliver mai as a rural carrier using a POV (my own Jeep). I wanted a shelf in the Jeep for packages, spurs, (small packages), and one that would be sturdy enough to withstand the daiy use and take the weight. It does! Although I haven’t bolted it down to the floor, (I needed it removable for a bit more space at high parcel time), it has worked great and I am happy with it. It will even hold my weight without bending. (160 lbs.) And for you other carriers, a ‘HOD’ will fit under this shelf. Nice! I really like it.
