It fits in my 2016 Forester and works well except the back piece that meets the back seat is barely too narrow. It doesn’t exact sit right and falls down. The rest of it fits and works well though

Not sure if a dealer returned item in the wrong box, it’s the correct part number but off by almost 2” this is verified to fit a 2017 forester with power lift gate but the one in the box was for a manual lift gate.

I inherited my dad’s 2016 Subaru Forester XT Touring and while the big cargo space in the back is great, I don’t always want people to be able to look back there and see what I have. My Forester didn’t come with the cover. So, I was thrilled to find out I could purchase one to put back there. This cargo cover is for the motorized tailgate. I don’t really know the difference between the two but if you have a motorized tailgate, this is the one you want.It installs in seconds and there is a space in the Styrofoam under the rear cargo deck to store it when you don’t need it. You can collapse it down, lift the rear deck and place it in there when you need more space than the cargo cover allows for. I did see some people complaining that the poles closer to the rear seat don’t fit properly. I found a way to make it stay without any modification. I placed it just under the trim where the white and black part meet. You can see the photos for reference. It has been holding great. I also think it helps a little with noise in the back of the vehicle. So, that’s a nice little bonus.I do think it’s pricy for what it is but I’m happy I got it and I prefer to stick with factory products to keep it stock. I would buy it again.
