I had a service engine soon light. My analyzer noted banks one and two running lean. My research on the internet noted to search for a vacuum leak. I found a tear in the small hose. The part was not difficult to install. I would recommend using silicone spray to get the part on the other air ducts. I did not and it was a bit difficult.

This engine intake hose boot failed or cracked every year on the BMW M54 engine, due to heat and vibration, and most BMW dealerships do not have them in stock. One of many poorly designed or low quality hardware items found on BMW cars.Somehow this item came with only one hose clamp included, but there are 3 point of attachments here, and they all needed hose clamps. You’ll will need to save and reuse the other 2 hose clamps from the outgoing piece.I’m glad Amazon has this item and ship to me in several days. BMW would have to special order from their plant in NC and would take weeks/months to arrived my local dealership. Also, this piece is 25% less at Amazon and OEM for BMW.
