I could not be happier with the Foxwell ST101. It came well packaged with easy to understand instructions. It also came with several accessories that make using the smoke machine easier. The built in air pump is nice, it eliminates the need to spend time connecting an external pump. I picked up a bottle of mineral oil to perform the smoke test with and followed the instructions. In about 15 minutes I was able to find the vacuum leak on my 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 that has been causing me problems. I saved over $250 by not going to a service shop and repaing it myself. This is the best purchase I have made in a while.

I was able to use this at remote job sites where I was not able to bring my large compressor.It takes a bit for it to fully smoke a large fuel tank but I love the leak-detection flow gauge as that helps me verify there are no leaks at all!

I have used it exactly twice and both times it did exactly what I needed it to. It will generate smoke that lingers and if you correctly plug up the obvious vacuum ports on your intake and feed the smoke in, then that smoke is going to come out all the non-obvious places.I was a little disconcerted to see smoke come out of the bearings for the throttle shaft, but that will indeed happen if you leave it long enough to build up positive pressure in the manifold because I managed to plug up all the actual leaks. So be sure to use common sense while interpreting your results.-CTH

I purchased last year but didn’t end up using at that time due to change in plans, unfortunately today I had a need/use for it , only to find that it doesn’t work right out of the box ? apparently I should have tried it out at the time I received it! Oh well , to late now , another piece of amazon garbage !

I found a hairline crack in one of the evap system hose nipples on the top of the tank on our 2005 Grand Caravan with it. Don’t overfill the oil. It doesn’t seem to put out smoke when you do.
