Self-closing cover protects the socket and contacts from water, dirt and corrosive elements. Product passes all SAE J1239 design and test requirements and is rated for temperature range of -40C to +85C. Product is rated for 15A (1.5 mm2 / 18 AWG wire) and 20A (2.5mm2 / 16 AWG wire). This product is of obvious high quality. BUT, I can only give this 3 stars.The installation instructions ONLY tell you how to mount the hardware. There is no explanation for the wiring at all.I went to erich-jaeger-usa.com to look for detailed instructions/diagrams.This is a huge company but their search feature is poor. I tried every nomenclature I could think of including that listed on the package. Not found. I tried every number. Not found.The company seems to have the attitude that their customers have all installed connectors before.Website probably designed by engineers.

After 21 years, the 4 pole connector on my truck just wasn’t cutting it any more. Got this and it snapped right into place with a minor modification. Now, connections to my trailer are solid and just plain work!

A little pricey for what it is but it’s worth it. Now instead of pulling out the tucked up wire from under my hitch, I can just plug in. I like the spring door and the mount too. If you have hanging wires get this.

This is a perfect! Looks good and keeps your ride looking clean and stock. Really well made the spring door is nice and strong and should keep the plug clean when not connected.

I added a receiver on my bronco and used this to mount the harness into, it worked pretty good although it was a little loose in the holder.

Got it to replace the connection in a trailer I recently purchase and I am very impressed by the design. Have used it at least a dozen times since installing it and have no complains. Will definitely add to any future trailer I purchase.

I installed 2 of these plugs on different vehicles. They worked great. I like how the cover is spring loaded to keep plug covered closed when it is not being used. This keeps the dirt out and the plug clean. It makes the plug looks factory installed.
