After thinking, rethinking, studying, and more studying, I decided to go with this tool kit for replacing the timing chain on my 2014 N20 BMW 528i. The original timing chain on my BMW was still in very good condition by the way. With over 73K miles and its unpredictability of failure, I decided to replace it now that I have the time to do it at home without any pressure for having the car running in short time and not risking to have an impromptu failure in the wrong place at the wrong time.The fit of the tool is tight with good tolerances. Timing is on the spot. Everything felt in the right place with tight tolerance. I am giving it only four stars because this kit lacks of two security/safety bolts that go at the end of the legs that secure the camshafts like in the original BMW tool. Other cheap tools have them. I should have bought a kit with the bolts to follow the procedure to the T. But, I noticed the lack of them until I installed the tool, compared it with the maintenance procedure, and it was too late to return it or exchange it for another tool.Anyways, at the end, all was set and done correctly without any snags. The tool served its purpose for this DIY project. I had fun doing it and save real $,$$$ in the process. With the additional advantage that no one else would do it with the love and care that I put on my car. Now, my N20 is running perfect with the new chain. No more worries for this item.

Bought this kit for my 2015 X1 and it was exactly what I needed for the timing chain replacement on these junk motors !! Worked perfect and didn’t break the bank…in fact I sold it to a friend to use on his car !! Quality construction compared to others I have seen .
