Works great for transfer case fluid change on a 2011 BMW X3. Some F25 X3 transfer cases have a separate drain plug and fill plug, and some only have a fill plug where fluid is suctioned out and pumped back in. This car happened to have both plugs (lower drain plug is a very tight squeeze) and this tool let me easily get access to both plugs without disassembling anything. Got an excellent grip using a 12 point 19mm wrench.A little expensive for just a simple 14mm hex bit, but saves a ton of time

This fill/drain plug hex drive works perfectly for the E70 X5 35d transfer case, front and rear differential plugs. It also works perfectly with my 2011 E90 rear differential fill plug. I have a Mac Tools low profile ratcheting closed-end wrench that allows this to slip in with zero issues.Don’t believe your BMW dealership when they say those fluids are lifetime fill – because that is BS. “Normal” service should get you 80-100k miles of service max – for all those fluids and the ZF6 transmission. Make that 50-60k miles of service under any conditions considered severe (mostly city, towing, long distance/higher speed driving etc.).

    Awesome Again

The clearance for getting a hex key between the ZF transmission and transfer case housing is extremely narrow. It is difficult to get a hex key in there to remove the fill plug for the transfer case. This tool works perfectly. Excellent quality. Great price.

This will work for the 6speed jeep transmission but only for the FILL plug, not the drain plug.

Really helps you get the drain and fill bolts out of hard to reach spots. Bought it for a 2016 MBenz C43 AMG worked like a charm. Couldn’t fit normal Allen sockets in the space.

This tool along with my Flex-head Ratcheting wrench, made my Transmisión Fluid change on my BMW R1200c Motorcycle “Easy”, no need for disrupting or removal of exhaust system.

Still Needs to be cut it for bmw x5 transfer case service

It fit in plugs (very tight space for transfer case) and allowed me to remove plugs with this tool and a 3/4” wrench for servicing them.

Fits & works perfectly for the BMW drain plugs.

The one side is 14mm the other side is 19mm.The 14 mm is for the fill plug on the side of the manual transmission, and for that one you do not need a stubby tool. There’s a lot of room for that plug. The drain plug is 17mm, so this nice stubby tool does NOT fit in the drain plug.If it was 17mm it would be a very useful tool because the length is perfect to fit between the plug and the exhaust pipe.So this tool is useless.

If you’re doing a transfer case draining, fill on a x drive BMW. this is an absolute must. Unless if you want to remove the transmission, cross member got better things to do with my time.
