Purchased this to finish up some 2.5 inch intercooler pipe. Clamped this in my vice and it works great. Make several passes to to the job, don’t try to make the bead all in one pass and this tool should last for quite a while

Used this product on several small jobs. Primarily beading copper pipe/fittings to accept rubber hose and hose clamps. As stated, works very well if the tool is mounted in a vise. It is difficult to control, “free hand”. Stable beading is attained when turning the handle counterclockwise (anticlockwise). versing direction causes the material to walk off path and create an unsatisfactory bead.

It works fine for copper and aluminum tubing, don’t know about steel

I had to shorten some intercooler piping and used this to make a new bead. It worked perfectly. I recommend using a bench vise to hold the bead roller in place, but it is still doable without one.

Does not fit 5/8 tubing which is specifically what I bought it for. Inside roller is .615″ in diameter, so unless you have one hundredth wall tubing, it doesn’t work.

I had 3 aluminum tubes (1 1/2” diameter) that required beads – 6 beads total. I first practiced on a scrap piece. Make sure the tube end is straight and cut square. Jagged ends will cause trouble. The tool definitely needs to be securely clamped in a vise. Go slow, it takes quite a few turns to get a good bead. If you used this tool for stainless it would have to be thin.
