Manufactured out of Hot-Stamped Boron Steel, these skid plates safeguard your vehicle’s critical components, ensuring unmatched protection when traversing even the most demanding off-road terrain. These are the same OEM-validated AEV skid plates that are found on the Colorado ZR2 Bison and Canyon AT4X AEV Edition. E-coated for maximum corrosion resistance.
IFS Skid Plate
The AEV IFS Skid Plate, manufactured out of Hot-Stamped Boron Steel and 1.8mm thick, shields the front differential and steering rack from unexpected impacts without sacrificing ground clearance.
Transmission/Transfer Case Skid Plate
Engineered to endure extreme off-road conditions, the AEV Transmission/Transfer Case Skid Plate is manufactured out of Hot-Stamped Boron Steel and is 1.8mm thick, protects your transmission pan and transfer case when navigating challenging terrain.
Fuel Tank Skid Plate

Oh, it’s really a thing! Hot Stamped Boron Steel is an ultra-high strength, press hardened steel.

Doesn’t the Colorado ZR2 Bison / Canyon AT4X AEV Edition have a radiator skid plate as well?
Yes, however that skid plate is only compatible with ZR2 Bison and AT4X AEV Front Bumper, therefore it is only available as a service part through the dealership.

Why not use aluminum instead of steel to save weight?
Aluminum is lightweight and easy to shape, but it is very soft and not nearly as strong as steel. Hot-Stamped Boron Steel is much stronger than aluminum and far more resistant to gouging.

What kind of coating is used on the skid plates?
We use a multi-stage, automotive-grade E-coating process on all our skid plates.
