A class law action suit was made against Compatible with Toyota/Scion 2005 to 2011 Toyota Scion xB and tC models because of the rear hatch door handle was breaking constantly. Compatible with Scion xB’s from 04-06 rear hatch door handle lift point is made out of plastic and breaks over time as the plastic gets weaker. The present invention is an improved the design of the original hatch handle by adding a second metal piece to reinforce support where it usually breaks. This improved design will make the rear hatch door handle to last.

For some reason Amazon would not let me post my video or original review. There was nothing bad on it, just a video of the piece installed and written info. I have a 2006 Scion XB and the original hatch lock came completely off after using roofing tape to hold one failing piece in place for years. Eventually the sun got to it and the whole thing fell off. Ordered this piece and installed it. One of the screws is pretty blocked by a metal piece in the car hatch door, but with patience, it’s pretty easy. The color looks good with the light grey color, even though it’s a bit darker.Hopefully Amazon won’t reject this review again 🙄

Sturdy, well made, better than the garbage OEM by 100%. Reinforced by metal inside assembly, and can actually FEEL sturdy difference. HIGHLY recommended.

This was very easy to install, just 4 bolt/nuts. Everything fit perfect. Once I had it tightened down it was very sturdy. Based on the recommendation of another review I did use some foam to block any light from coming out the top. I would recommend 1/4 wide and 1/8 thick, no more than 1/4 thick.

Original hatch handle broke into pieces and this was very easy to install. With the metal reinforcement in this, I’m not concerned about it happening again.
