I had to replace the canister on my 2007 silverado due to an Evap code. During the Evap onboard test it closes the evap solenoid and lets the system build vacuum, then it opens the solenoid and times how fast the vacuum is lost. My vacuum levels went down too slow after the solenoid opened because the canister was clogged so it set off the evap code. After I replaced the canister the vacuum was lost immediately and the test passed and away went the check engine light. Old one lasted 12 years so not too bad.

Fuel tank would not fill. Turned out to be a clogged evap canister. This was an exact fit. Reasonably priced and was received as promised. I replaced the new part in less than an hour and was able to fill my tank and be back to operating normally.

Kept having a gas tank vent issue on my 04 GMC Sierra where it wouldn’t take fuel unless the nozzle was just perfectly positioned an pumped at the right speed. After the purge valve canister didn’t fix it, I bet this was the issue. Sure enough, i can now pump as quick as everyone else at the gas station lol. Bit of a pain to replace if the OE canister is still on there, things tend to be stubborn after so many years. I think i ended up needing some 5/8 heater hose and some clamps (been a few months since install), but overall the time spent was well worth it.

Installed on a 2005 Silverado 1500 4.8 2wd scsb. Fixed gas pump prematurely shutting off when pumping gas in.

Our old canister broke open and got the charcoal bits spread throughout the lines which causes the vapors to not release correctly which in turn causes the gas pump to shut off almost immediately thus taking half an hour to fill the tank.I will say I didn’t want to drop the gas tank off the car to really get the lines cleaned out which may have been faster. With a mostly empty tank of gas I created an “air stopper” around my air line and shot air into the gas tank with the lines removed to blow the charcoal out; also used a wire to snake the lines a bit. Eventually I was able to get the lines cleared and this installed like a breeze.
