First, I want to say that even with terrible instructions and a challenging installation this is still worth 5 stars for the price point. The instructions are truly bad. Search a video on YouTube for a much better time. If you have a Santa Cruz(as I do, see photos) it is extra challenging just with the design of the bed but well worth it.This cover when installed properly might as well be waterproof though I am hesitant to say that for obvious reasons. Almost nothing is water proof. But when I open it, I rarely find more than a few drops that I probably flung there while opening the bed.The cover will not sit flush with the existing bed, but that seems to be an intentional design choice. It has Velcro flaps that seal downward, not flat, making it incredibly challenging for water to enter the bed. A good design in my opinion. Or a good outcome for a less thought out design.The cover itself has a slight design on it and we love that. It adds to a premium feel.Santa Cruz owners please see photos. Our car has some details on the bed that taper up to the rear window which doesn’t allow this to completely wrap up tight against the back window. I was initially disappointed but as you can see from lugging some plants around it is a none issue. I would say it is my fault for not considering this and a happy coincidence that it doesn’t upset me.Lastly, there is some give to the cover and it is not firm. So while you can’t sit anything on it you can also cover items that are slightly taller than the cover. I imagine this comes with some risk but the utility is worth it. An example would be a taller than expected cooler still fitting for beach trips even though the handle sticks into the cover a bit.Great buy. Terrible instructions. Long installation. Would buy again if we got another vehicle that needed it.

The installation wasn’t easy, but I took my time, followed the instructions and watched a couple of YouTube videos and was able to get it done. All in all it took me about 3 hours. Your install time may be less if you have a little more mobility than I do.Since I installed the cover I have gone through an automated car wash several times and only had water come in at the corners, which was expected. What was surprising, though, was last weekend when I went through a horrible rain storm and had to drive through deep puddles on the way home. Several times people in lifted trucks completely covered my truck in water as they passed (water was about 6 – 8 inches deep), yet I had no more water in the bed than if I had gone through the car wash.The reason I gave this 4 stars is that it flaps in the wind while driving. The Velcro that holds down the sides does not come un-stuck, however. I plan on adjusting it more this weekend. I think the issue is going to be that if I run the adjustment screws out enough to tighten the cover enough to stop flapping, it may interfere with the tailgate. The Santa Cruz has an electronic opening tailgate and that does not work with the way the tonneau cover sits across the back end of the bed.

Definitely worth the money and effort. Like others who purchased this tonneau I struggled with the installation…mostly because I had put the spacers for the rail clips on wrong. After several unsuccessful tries I watched a YouTube video which showed the correct spacer orientation and it was smooth sailing going forward. This cover looks great and has been completely water tight. I especially appreciate the tension adjusters which I’ve increased every few days for the first two weeks while the fabric has relaxed post installation. Per instructions the tonneau should be “drum tight” and the tensioners are easy to adjust. Overall I’m very happy with this product!

Came poorly packaged. Defective installation parts. Could not install cover for said defective parts. Was charged a restocking fee for a defective product. Buyer beware.
