BatteryMINDer 2012-AGM is a SmarTECHnology microprocessor controlled charger/maintainer/desulfator for High-Performance AGM Sealed Batteries such as Odyssey, Hawker and other AGM batteries that contain Pure Lead Thin Plate Technology (PLT). Plug ‘n Run feature means “no buttons to push.” It is designed with 7-stages and is fully automatic. This charger actively monitors your battery’s voltage, amperage acceptance and temperature at all times.
- Will not overcharge, regardless of how long connected.
- Temperature compensation ensures proper charge in hot or cold environments.
- Installed ambient temperature sensor for 0°F–130°F operating range ensures the battery will never be overcharged or undercharged regardless of temperature extremes. Optional “at the battery” sensor is also available for greater accuracy when battery and charger are not in same ambient temperature environment.
- Diagnostic LED indicators for power, polarity reversal, battery weak, load, bad cell, testing, desulfating, temperature compensation, charging stage and charge level.
- Maximizes battery life and capacity, reconditions weak batteries.
- Plug ‘n Run operation-no buttons to push.

I have this on a battery that runs an inverter, which runs a sump pump. So there is a light load on the battery due to the inverter sitting idle. It has performed well for approximately one year now. I also have another one that is a 2/4/8 amp model for general charging of various other batteries, not on a constant basis though. I like them both very well. It may be a little more expensive but I like the lights on them, so you can tell what the status is at a glance.

Product arrived on time and in good packaging. The charger is perfect for AGM batteries only. Used on an Indian motorcycle battery to counteract discharge. The four star rating is only because it does not have a real-time readout which is not really an issue but would be nice to have.

I’ve used my Battery Minder every 6 months or so on 4 0r 5 starting batteries. After 5 years of service starting endines, those batteries behave like new, They were 36 nonth guarantee quality batteries..

This unit has many key features to keep an AGM battery in top notch condition. First it gives desulfation pulses. Second, it has temperature compensation which really helps if stored in the cold during winter. Then maintains the battery in top charge. Best way to keep an AGM going for a long life. There are cheaper ways to go but get what you pay for.

This charger is the second of this model I own as it on the approved list from Odyssey. I use it to keep the Odyssey AGM battery in an old classic car properly maintained and healthy. Based on experience with this brand of battery and another one of these charges, I expect the batter to last at least double or triple longer than a standard lead acid battery and trickle charger.
