These are perfect for motorhomes that don’t have onboard water filter systems. You screw your regulator onto the campground spigot, attach the included strain relief, then the filter, then attach your water hose (also remember to use it when filling your water tank.) It has a sediment filter for particulates and activated carbon for tastes/odors. They also say it has a KDF filter, which I had to look up; it’s like a catalyst that breaks down chemicals. The packaging says it’s NSF certified, so I looked it up. NSF has no record of this company which is why I gave this product three stars. But if all you care about is taste, odor, and sediment, this filter should work just fine.

Compared to similar in-line RV water filters with the same 20-micron capability, this is priced slightly less and seems like a good two-pack value for what it promises to deliver: standard chlorine reduction and odor elimination when using often sketchy campground water sources. The manufacturer says the filter removes chlorine, rust and “turbidity,” which is basically the suspended matter that’s sometimes found in rural well water. The flexible hose protector is a good bonus. The water pressure max is 60 psi, but most RVs and trailers use some type of pressure regulator to keep this well under that figure. The three-month lifespan is probably a good estimate for basic summer camping. All-in-all, a great value for a simple carbon filtering system that attaches directly to any standard 3/4” water hose. I don’t really use campground water for drinking, only for washing and cooking, so this is perfectly adequate.

Perfect for removing chlorine from your water. I use these every year to attach to the garden hoses to eliminate chlorine from the line. They chlorinate our water so heavily that there are times you can smell it just from running the water at the sink. We have a reverse osmosis unit at the kitchen sink and filters in the shower lines, but our spring garden vegetables and fruits don’t like chlorine, either. These filters, attached to the spigots, fix the problem.I love that the extra wire wrapped hose connector is included. This bit removes stress and tension from the garden hose.

Same as another reviewer mentioned, I couldn’t verify the NSF certification so I won’t be using these for drinking. Instead I will repurpose them as a filter for car washing, to remove some of minerals from the water which reduces the water-spots that form with normal tap water.

While we don’t use the water out of the faucets in our RV for drinking, so I can’t speak to how these function in terms of taste, we do use the water for bathing and washing dishes, so we feel using a filter like this on the garden hose leading to the RV is critical for protecting against sediment and odor. In fact, I prefer to connect the water filter directly to the faucet (before the pressure regulator) in the campground as this provides some protection against the pressure regulator getting clogged if there is sediment in the water. The four-layer construction (Sediment Layer, KDF, GAC, and Sediment Layer) should prove more effective than a simple charcoal only filter. The short hose sections provide strain relief, and the wire coil helps prevent kinking.Materials, fit and finish is good.

Summary:I chose this product to use on the hose between city water and my trailer, as the RV salesman suggested, mostly to just filter out sediment and hopefully reduce the water flow. It seems like it will do just that, so I’m pleased with the product so far.Pros:- Filters out sediment- Threaded on both ends (male on one side, female on the other)- Comes with a small hose extender in each box, if you need oneCons:- So far there are no negatives / cons.

We do not use these filters in the traditional manor, specifically on an RV. Instead, we have one of these filters on the cold water line going to our washing machine. I can guarantee one thing about these filters, they do a great job of removing the chlorine from the city water.Several months ago our local water treatment plant began increasing their usage of chlorine. We didn’t notice at first because our drinking water runs through a reverse osmosis system. It became very apparent one day when we noticed our clean clothes were coming out of the closet smelling of chlorine. Since we wash all of our clothes in cold water, this filter was the best solution. They have functioned perfectly! No leaks, no problems! They

I use these filters because I have sulfur smell in my water at times. These filters catch small debris I find when I change them out but the main reason is the smell and they remove the smell. They are super easy to hook up and come with washers. If they leak I just tighten it down a tad more and it stops. I have had no issue with them leaking with proper connect. The main thing is do not cross thread and there should be no issue. They filter for 3 or 4 months for my needs and I do not replace until I smell a whiff of the sulfur coming through. I do not test for anything I go by the smell. The quality of the filter meets my needs. This is a good value and so simple to use to keep that bad smell out.
