An application specific press tool designed to remove and replace the large 65mm hydro-bushings on the front-axle lower control arms. Use of this tool allows the bushings to be serviced on the vehicle. This eliminates the need to remove the lower control arm from the vehicle, thereby saving valuable time and effort and avoiding potential damage to other suspension joints & components. I tried to use this tool to change the bushings on my Honda Element. It broke on the first use! I used regular hand tools (1 socket wrench and 1 combination wrench) and greased the threads of the rod. After pushing the bushing about a third of the way out, the rod snapped in half! This thing is pretty poorly made if the rod breaks with less than 200 ft-lb of torque.I returned the tool to the seller for refund. The seller’s site specified tracking for items over $75. I stupidly didn’t use tracking because this tool is under the threshold, so the seller claims to have never received it… Go figure. Now I’m out the cost of the tool, 2-way shipping, and the other money I had to spend to remove the control arms in order to have the bushings replaced.

I was skeptical because the other review gave only one star. I took a chance and don’t regret that I did. This tool did what it was supposed to do.I changed the compliance bushings in a 2001 Civic with no problem and saved some bucks!I did not use an impact wrench. I did it with regular Craftsman wrenches and took my time. I sprayed the old bushings with PB Blaster and let them soak a bit and they did come out. I wet the new ones with Blaster and they went right back in.No complaints here!Works on Honda’s and Acura’s but should work on any car that has a 65mm bushing.

I used this on my 2005 Honda Pilot. There are two control arm bushings on each control arm. The rear bushing is 65mm. This fits that bushing. It does not fit the front bushing which is smaller. The rear bushing receives far more stress and is far more likely to crack.This tool works remarkable well. Some reviews suggest the tool may break. I can only imagine that they used the tool on the wrong size bushing, or they used the tool incorrectly. I found pushing the old bushing out and pushing the new bushing in to be rather easy. I did use a very long handled wrench.There is a bearing to reduce friction while turning the nut that pushes the bushing out, or the new one back into place. That bearing must be on the nut you are turning. The bearing is on one side of the tool when pushing the bearing out and on the other side when pushing the bearing in. The picture that comes with the tool is correct. It takes a little thought to understand the picture, but once you understand the concept it is obvious.If your only problem is replacing the one cracked bushing you should consider this tool. But, you should also consider buying a complete new control arm. The control arm has a brand new set of bushings (front and back) plus a new ball joint. The cost of a new control arm bushing through an online auto parts store is surpringly low.

Worked great on my son’s Honda Element. Although we used a 20 ton press and not the long bolt so I can’t speak for that portion.
