If you own a GM 350cc /AT – you need to know exactly the year of your engine (and flywheel flex plate). Late 80’s early 90’s they switched over to metric – Torque converter bolts come in both American and Metric. Worse yet, sizes are so close, the metric ones will screw-into the American sized flex plate leading you to believe it is the metric bold is the correct bold – WRONG ASSUMPTION. What will happen, you will tighten the bolt down and it will work loose.Moral of the story – make sure you do your homework and assess the exact year of your engine and flex plate – ALSO, DON’T FORGET TO APPLY LOCK TIGHT SEALANT TO THE THREADS.
