Bought to further upgrade my trusty 12 year old Carrera Subway 1 that I had just converted to front discs using new replacement parts. This left the back end feeling very under-braked.The A2z clearly and correctly states that it is for flat dropouts. My dropouts have bosses on the inside where the axle butts onto the internal face of the dropout (I.e. not flat) To enable the A2z to fit flush I had to spend a few minutes with a sharp file on two edges of the said aluminium boss to achieve a fit. This is not a criticism of the product, just info. The other challenge was that my dropouts are thinner than required for a good tight fit to the A2z. This difference required several washers on each of the fixing bosses. Once I had those measurements (exactly 3mm) I made aluminium spacers and everything went together well. Washers would work though. So I fitted Clark’s Clout 1 hydraulic disc brakes front and rear (for 160mm rotors and IS mounts) which are very good value. The brakes are light years ahead of the original brakes and work in all conditions. The A2z is very well made from high quality materials and I would definitely buy one again.
