I was towing a large trailer with high head winds at freeway speeds when my check engine light came on and the engine started missing. Limped off freeway to mechanic that found bad coil. Changed coil and hit the road. 10 miles down the freeway and same thing. Luckily dealer was located right off next exit. They also diagnosed the same cylinder with a bad coil.I asked that they pull the plug and check it too. I was standing there when they pulled it out and we all said in unison “wow”. The plug was showing some serious tracking. Not sure which caused which but the dealer charged me something like $15 for a plug. When I got home I ordered these and changed out the remaining 5. Simple process and noticed the truck ran better afterwards. Have since heard many dealers are recommending changing the ecoboost plugs every 30 or 40k miles. These are marked with the exact same numbers and markings as the ones that came out of my truck. They are pre-gapped like all plugs are these days so just pop out of the box and install.

Right away I noticed more horsepower and about 2 miles more per gallon. Now I can ease off the gas and get better starts without applying the gas pedal so often. Changing out spark plugs on an F150 requires the right socket and adapters to remove the back ones. Here’s a great tip (use a clear hose just tight enough to hold the spark plugs, then lower it into the cylinder and start the threading – works like a charm. You can thank my friend who lost his right arm in a rock-climbing trip. He’s a full-time mechanic and taught me this lesson. Of course, the lesson is facing tragedy with the courage to continue what you are called to do. In fact, Paul changed out my engine on a van.)Back to spark plugs – make sure the gap is set correctly. I found that .32 was recommended for my truck model. And I also used anti-seize on all plugs.)

Perfect replacement for the plugs in my 2014 Ford F-150 Ecoboost. I replaced them at around 60K miles when I started noticing my truck idling rough. After installing the new spark plugs, the truck still vibrates pretty badly while idle. However, the spark plugs might not be the issue and I still wanted to replace them as these Ecoboost engines really beat up spark plugs like you’ll see my image. If any car-people know some tips with fixing a rough idle in an F-150 with an Ecoboost engine, I’d appreciate a reply! In the end, these are great plugs! Good luck!

I’ve been having misfires P300, P301, P304, P305 and decided to change the coils first. (wrong call) The problem persisted so I decided to pop out the spark plugs. One of them showed a crack on the ceramic, so I changed all 6 plugs. Today I tested it on the expressway, and the BOOST is totally back. I am impressed to say the least and totally happy. Small investment for a SUPERB performance. The ones I removed appear to be the previous model (CYFS12YT3 shown) and the ones I received are the latest CYFS12YT4.

Plugs are good, definitely need to be changed every 15,000-20,000 miles though, atleast for my stock 2014 F-150 Ecoboost. You’ll know they need to be changed when the truck starts stuttering under acceleration or idling a little bit rougher than usual. Only takes about 30-45 minutes to change them so it ain’t that big of a deal. I’ve changed them three times now and they were all gapped 0.0315” when i received them. Truck seems to like them better when they’re gapped to 0.028”-0.029” but it ain’t that big of a deal if you leave them how they come. If you look at the pics you can see the cracked insulator on two of the plugs after about 18,000 miles. Trucks just rough on spark plugs 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just so there isn’t any confusion. The description says can use sp580. Not sure why they worded it like that. The sp580 is the replacement for the discontinued sp534. I received the sp534’s which is a discontinued plug. I am happy with that. I like to use factory spec on my vehicle. As for the sp534’s. They were all gapped at .030 except 1 which was .031. I am very satisfied with the plugs so far. We will see after I put some miles on.
