The most important thing to me is that this fits my 2017 Toyota Highlander. Now I have something to attach a tow-rope to when I get stuck in a snowdrift!

Fits 2017 Highlander. Cheaper than the dealership.

Bought used Toyota that came w/o tie down hook. Haven’t tried to install it yet, but I believe it will fit. It seem to be genuine Toyota part. Recently saved me when I got stuck in deep snow with Kia Sedona minivan. A guy with pick up truck who stopped to help, was quite impressed how quickly and simply the tie down was to install, and serve the purpose. Hopefully I am not going to stuck again with AWD Highlander, but you never know. The tie down hook is also good for securing a canoe when transported on the roof racks.

I have two of these and they fit into the threaded socket (hidden behind a plastic cover in the front bumper) of both my 2015 and 2019 Highlanders. These work great as a tie-down point for a canoe or kayak. Minus one star though for being unnecessarily expensive.

The tow hook worked great in the front of a 2018 Highlander LE. A plastic cover in the grill had to be removed to expose the threaded holes in the frame. This will be useful to tie down items carried on the roof.

Fits my 2014 Highlander XLE, but I read that not all 2014 models have the bumper cut outs for a tow hook and some that do don’t have the screw outlet in the car’s frame to accept the screw part. I even saw that someone had the holes in the bumper and frame but they weren’t threaded. Can’t confirm, but the story I read is that Toyota has the mount made for tying the cars down while transporting them across the ocean but some of the cars are made here in the USA and don’t need to be transported so they don’t have the hooks and so Toyota doesn’t have much information available on what is officially supported. Not sure if it’s true but it’s a good idea to check your front bumper and frame to see before buying.

Appears to be OEM anyway (and is claimed to be such). This is way overpriced by Toyota and should be included with the vehicle. That said, this is a better price than I could find anywhere else. Toyota does not make it clear which year Highlanders this fits. We have a 2018 Highlander XLE, and it fits perfectly. Screws in, no wiggle or slop. The threaded area is not very long and it’s standard (not fine) thread. Hard to believe it has enough bite to hold if tugged on to the vehicle’s weight. Hopefully I’ll never have to test it, but good to have just in case.

Fits perfectly in my Toyota Highlander 2017 Limited
Donald D. Doten –
Perfect fit for 2018 Highlander XLE. Even fits in the spare tire storage tray.

This Tow Hook is substantially smaller and thinner than the one that came with my Toyota.

Perfect fit. In spite of amazon saying it doesn’t and the toyota dealership not even showing it as available for my car it fits perfectly in the threads of the frame in the front grille and even has a perfectly designed cut out for in the tire jack cutout in the back of the suv. I dont know why Amazon or the dealership says it won’t work for the 17 highlander but im guessing it’s for legal reasons. Either way it’s rock solid when installed and has a perfect home in the cut out next to the tire jack.

2025 rav4 the back of the eyelet is flush with the bumper. Enough room to tow and such. However the one that comes with the car is 1-2 inches longer.

I was struggling to find a good method to strap a canoe to our 2016 Highlander. Purchased two of these tow hooks and they work great. Easy to install and they store in the tool compartment in the back. Very clean and stick out just far enough that the straps don’t rub on the front of the car.
