There’s not much to say because it just worked, perfectly. Default setting is 4-cycle and that’s what I put it on so I just followed the minimal instructions on the back. Three wraps around the high voltage SP lead and two passes through the holes on the side of the tach. Started the engine and there it was.I have an old ride-on that I re-engined. The carb linkage is backwards from the old one so full choke is where the speed is marked “slow” and slow is where the speed is marked “choke”. Well actually “turtle emoji” and “rabbit emoji”. If I want full engine speed with no partial choke(wasting fuel), I have to get actual “rabbit” which is now about 2/3 of the way between fast and slow, coming from the slow “rabbit emoji” side of the throttle travel. Sounds confusing but it isn’t. I always did it by ear but now I can actually see the maximum and back off 100rpm and I know it’s not riding the choke.Searching for a down side, the only thing I would change about it is to make and include a snap-on holder (bracket) and put the double sided foam tape on it instead of the tach itself, so that it would be easily removable to use temporarily somewhere else (like chain saw/weed trimmer/etc. tune-ups) rather than directly on the back of the device. I addressed that issue by only removing about a 3-4mm strip of the protective paper on the adhesive tape and leaving the rest so it can be used again should I need to take it off and put it on again.

I got this to use on my gas-powered pressure washer to keep track of maintenance items. It’s very compact and displays the necessary information needed to keep up with general maintenance like spark plugs and oil/filters. It’s pretty easy to install. For removability, I mount the device with an adhesive hook & and loop tape. to make sure it doesn’t go anywhere should the tape fail, I also utilize a zip tie. For the sensing wire, I wrap it around the spark plug wire five or six times and then cover the wraps with a piece of duct tape to keep them tight around the wire.Simple as that! Never be left guessing about when your next oil change is due.

Unit is built solidly and has adequate instructions. I bought it to adjust idle and full throttle rpm on chainsaws, as it is advertised as reading to 30,ooo rpm. It worked well for setting idle but wouldn’t read above around 65oo rpm, so no good for setting high limit on my saws.
