I’ll say I don’t think this is 16ga, definitely seems thinner, and it welded like crap. Just burned up the instant I touched it. I’ve welded thin metal before and this was different. No matter what I tried it turned out horrible.

These fenders was very easy to install and put the backs on as the material was plenty thick enough to welding with no problem. The fenders are a solid install not flimsy at all, would use again on next trailer build.
