This battery heater pad does exactly what it’s supposed to, but it’s not instant. The built-in thermostat has a long cool-down cycle, so out of every minute, it only seems to actively warm for about 20 seconds. That means you’ll want to leave it running for at least an hour or more if you really want to bring a battery up to temp, especially in cold weather. Once I figured that out, it became part of my normal winter prep.I’ve been using it on a big 950 CCA tractor battery and it handles that just fine. The best part is there are no extra controls or settings to mess with—just plug it in and it handles the rest. The power draw is low enough that I can use it with an indoor timer without stressing about overloading anything. Overall, it’s a solid hands-off solution for keeping batteries functional in freezing temps, as long as you give it some time to do its thing.
