They work, and for certain applications they are better than a Heli-Coil.I used this to repair the grip-mounting screw threads on an AR-15 lower receiver.

I restored a MG Midget and used this kit to repair stripped weld nuts and floating nut plates. Easy to use and does the job well without much effort. All you need is a tap wrench and some oil.
The Dude –
This is a high quality set. I used this to fix a front action screw hole on a long range precision rifle. After installing I was able to tighten the screw down to 55lbs of torche which is needed for accuracy.
