Our 2016 Ford Escape with the 1.6l had a service engine light come on, and when we had it scanned it showed a P144c code which was for a evap canister purge check valve. After getting quoted 350$ through ford, and we were told it was atleast 3 weeks out, we decided to try this Dorman part for the cost. It took me about an hour to replace it and after I was complete I cleared the code with my own OBD2 reader. It’s been a week of driving the car and so far so good and no service lights have come back on! Definitely recommend this part for the price.

Other than getting it fifty dollars cheaper by not getting it locally, it fit and took care of the problem. Quality was as good or better than the original.

The most difficult part of this install is attempting to remove the metal bracket that the actual purge value is connected to. To make install easier lead the factory bracket connected and simply pull the valve off the new bracket (it is held on by a rubber bushing, therefore is is relatively easy to remove). Other than that the install requires some patience and some snaking of hoses. Worth the time and effort, most dealers will charge $750+ to fix this issue.
