I bought this controller to replace an old, tired Carlin 42230-02A. I was having trouble with intermittent lockouts. After some research into the problem I decided to try a new controller. It starts up perfectly and the diagnostic LEDs help to show it working correctly. In the process of replacing this controller, I found that a numb-skull had wired the old one (many years ago) incorrectly, that is igniter and motor together. Grrrrrr. This is an intermittent ignition. If you want something done right and you have some basic knowledge, do it yourself.

WORKS GREAT AND CHEAPER THAN BUYING IT FROM THE ELECTRICIAN

UPDATE: the new controller worked as it should… with no sparks. And i didn’t change any wiring that my brother did. I checked his wiring before trying this new controller btw… He wired it correct with the first controller. I just plugged it in and it worked fine. This is/was not a bad review for the seller just for the bad faulty part we got. No problems with the seller. Updating it 4 starsoriginal review: gave it 2 stars… Sparks flew out of new controller right after installing. My brother ordered new one (not from my seller most likely but maybe). I will update when i know if new one works or not.

It worked for what I needed it for.

The flame sense function stopped working on our old controller. The model number matched the one on our burner, and someone else was nice enough to say that they got this to work with their Lanair. I’m always worried that there is going to be something different that I’m not going to realize until it is too late, but this worked out just fine. Hopefully it works for over 10 years like the last one did.

Took a little bit of thinking to replace the older control module, but works perfect.
