The headlights on my ’01 Durango, were getting that nasty yellowish film on them. I don’t have a garage, so my Durango is constantly exposed to the elements. I’ve been in the market for some new crystal clear Anzo’s, for quite some time now. But, outta curiosity, I wanted to give the Blue Magic headlight lens restorer a try. I purchased the the restorer a couple weeks back. I didn’t purchase this sealer, ’til I saw the results from the restorer. The restorer is a blue polish, much like liquid car wax. As I mentioned previously, my lights were getting pretty darn yellow and ugly. I was skeptical, to say the least. But, after about five-six applications of the restorer, my headlights started showing signs of life.It’s easy, just apply the polish to a soft cloth, rub in a circular motion, then buff with another clean/soft cloth. The yellow began to disappear, to my amazement. Pleased with those results, I went ahead and purchased the sealer. Prior to applying this sealer, I did another half dozen or so applications of the restorer polish. My headlights were much much clearer and brighter, and the yellow was GONE! Now, extremely pleased with the restorer results, out came the sealer. I sprayed the sealer diectly onto the lens (as stated in the directions on the bottle), then wiped with a clean/soft cloth. I then, did a second application with the sealer, and let it dry overnight. When I came out to my truck in the morning, I was like…”WOW”! That’s how bright/clear and shiny my headlights were, now. They were very very close to looking brand new.The only thing I wish I would’ve done, was taken a few before/after pics. Between the restorer and sealer, I couldn’t be happier. The best part is, no sandpaper is required. Just apply to a soft cloth, rub and buff, it’s that easy. So, if you’re considering paying a “professional” to restore your yellowy/ugly headlights, try the restorer and sealer, first. The results look wonderful, and your wallet will thank you, too! One final thing, another review mentioned this product being “hard and messy”. Well, it actually couldn’t be easier. There’s nothing “hard and messy” about a few quick sprays and buffs. I think in total, it took me maybe five minutes to polish and seal both lights, and NO “mess”. Obviously, the more applications you decide to use, it will take a bit longer. But, five-ten minutes give or take, will make your ugly headlights smile again. 🙂 I’m still gonna purchase new lights all the way around the truck. But, for a mere fifteen bucks or so for the restorer and sealer, I’m more than pleased with the results.

This works pretty well. I cleaned and polished my headlights using another product and used this as a sealer. It does take a bit of time to dry so I could see how some people might have complained about it being oily and such. Upon applying this my headlights became much clearer and shinier. Its been a few days and still looks good. We will have to see about the long term/ My headlights were a bit sand blasted with 190k miles on them. I could not get all the pitting out with the other product so there is still a bit of a haze on them when the lights get turned on due to the pits. But it does look so much better than before and the pitting is of no fault of this product. It seems to work well. Plus, theres a lot in the bottle in case I need to re-apply at some time in the future. Im happy with it.

I already had another clear coat product on hand in my garage. I applied two coats of that, but it does not offer the UV protection. I’ve read this product is oily and takes forever to dry. The bottle says spray directly on the lens. Others here have said spray on the cloth. I did both, a little on the lens, and somewhat generous on the cloth, then made sure the surface of the lens was evenly coated. As others noted, the lens looks even clearer now, but that’s because it’s oily wet. What I found the next day was the lenses looked and felt dry, but after feeling them, I could feel product on my fingers. I buffed with a microfiber towel, and repeated. I let the second coat dry just a few hours, and instead of using a microfiber towel to buff, I used the same towel I used to apply the product. The lenses look dry, but likely still have a thin oily film on them. I know they are well covered and protected. This product should last, and there is a LOT in the bottle. Enough to cover after every car wash for a year. Even if I clean with PalstiX and apply once a month, I should never have to “restore” again. Only time will tell. I have a big bottle of Complete Buffing Compound too. If I DO need to restore, I may only need to Buff, Clean, and Clear Coat. Well… that’s the plan. If anything changes, I will update this review. No news means the product is performing as expected.

To start off, if your lens have condensation or water inside the lens, you need to replace them. No restoring chemical will help. That said, this is good stuff for finishing your lens restoration.Depending on how bad your lenses are, you may need to wet sand your lenses from 400 grit, 800, 1600. 2400, first. Mine were so bad that you could not see through the lens to see either headlight bulbs. They were yellow and opaque. I wet sanded through each of the grits you see above (it will look like you have ruined your lenses till you hit the 1600 and 2400 grits). Then I hit the lenses with a scratch and swirl remover and a soft wool buffer on my drill. Finally, I hit the lens with Blue Magic Lens Sealer.Yikes, what a difference. I did not bother to take pictures of my 2008 Scion lenses before because frankly, I figured I was going to have to replace them. But after I was done, the lenses were nearly new clear. Using the Blue Magic Lens Sealer every month or so (just a quick wipe on) keeps them looking great. Best of all, my headlights are back to full brightness for night driving.

Pretty much no useful instructions or information about the product. Leaves an oily residue. Never dried even after 24hrs at 28 degrees centigrade. Maybe I am not using it correctly but given the instructions are not helpful then it is not surprising.
