I’ve tested quite a few backing plates over the years, and this Maxshine 6″ plate is impressive. The PU construction makes a noticeable difference in reducing vibration, which means less fatigue during long detailing sessions. The heat dissipation is excellent – even after extended use, it should stay cool thanks to those 8 vents.The hook and loop system is rock solid, keeping pads perfectly centered without any wobble or detachment issues. I especially appreciate the tapered edge design – it will save me from those annoying backing plate marks when working at angles. The reinforced steel struts definitely help maintain even pressure, which is crucial for consistent results.My only minor gripe is that the 14mm thickness makes it slightly bulkier than some competitors, which can take a little getting used to when working in tighter spaces. That said, the extra thickness seems to contribute to its durability and vibration control, so it’s a worthwhile trade-off.Only used for sample testing not a full detail yet.

I was a little concerned that without being able to hold the nut while tightening this backing pad down, that I wouldn’t be able to actually get it tightened down at all. But it did. It tightened right down and it did not come loose.I found that the sandpaper held very well to the Maxshine backing pad. The sandpaper didn’t move around or come off while in use. The sandpaper was actually a little difficult to remove which makes me feel that the hook & loop on this backing pad will hold up very well over time.

I had worn out the velcro on my existing pad on my dual action polisher so I wanted to get an equivalent pad. This item works well, is made well, and is exactly what I needed as a replacement pad for my DA polisher. The quality is excellent, and it is a good value in comparison to the expensive name brand items that are much more costly. I am considering getting another one just so I have a backup. It is durable and the velcro seems to be a very good quality, it does the same job as the one that came with my DA polisher and was a direct fit.

Solid backing plate with lots of openings which align with many different dual-action polishers! The metal backing plate is evenly balanced, has excellent hook and loop, and appears to be made from high quality components. Great find!

I used this backing plate on my polisher after fresh primer, paint, and cut. The shine came out smooth as glass. I’m happy with this piece and would get it again.

I’m not a fan of the mounting bolt being a lose piece from the plate. The bolt head has no way of holding it still as you mount the plate and try to tighten. Awkward and difficult. It doesn’t instill confidence that it will all hold together during use. I don’t recommend it.
